Tobacco Heritage Trail—Victoria Trailhead
For the state’s railroad buffs, the semi-obscure Virginian Railway holds a special place. Utilizing then-cutting-edge technology, the line shuttled coal over mountains, along Southern Virginia, and into Hampton Roads. A small memory of the Virginian remains at the Victoria Railroad Park, part of the in-progress Tobacco Heritage Trail network. Currently five miles of the line can be utilized for biking or hiking here. Access a larger section in La Crosse, about 28 miles to the south.
