Jerry Falwell Museum & Library
Although controversial, Jerry Falwell was one of the most important religious and political figures of the late 20th century. The bootlegger’s son founded his popular Thomas Road Baptist Church, fretted about the decline of family values in the 1970s, and later discovered he had a powerful and politically active following. His work played a role in merging conservative evangelical Christians and the Republican Party. The Jerry Falwell Museum and Library at Liberty University honors the institutions founder and his impact on the United States.
