Birthplace of Country Music Museum
Affiliated with the Smithsonian Institution, the Birthplace of Country Music Museum tells the story of the famous 1927 “Bristol Sessions,” which included the Carter family as well as country music pioneer Jimmie Rodgers. The museum explores how technology shaped the genre and highlights how this rich musical heritage thrives today. Through exhibits, educational programs and cultural events, the exciting story of these recording sessions and their far-reaching influence comes alive. The museum houses an extensive digital archive and an on-site radio station, WBCM-LP.
