Belle Grove Plantation, King George Co. (James Madison’s birthplace)
Dating to 1670, Belle Grove Plantation, located on the Rappahannock River in King George County, is noted for being the birthplace of James Madison, Founding Father and fourth president of the United States. The restored mansion is now a bed and breakfast, which offers tours of the historic dwelling. A short drive away is the Woodlawn Historic and Archaeological District.
