Before the great Midwestern flour industry dominated the country, the American public associated wheat with Virginia. The Aldie Mill, in business from 1807 until 1971, reflects the era when small but cutting-edge operations dotted the landscape. More history sits two miles east at the adjacent Gilbert’s Corner Regional Park and Mount Zion Historic Park.
